Mailpiece Settings
The mailpiece settings area is where you set the characteristics of your mailing.

Mailpiece is used for domestic items according to the mailpiece definitions. This pop-up is not used for international mail, instead see international service.
When Envelope or Postcard is selected as a mailpiece, Endicia for Mac will print to the envelope or postcard defined in the Postcard & Envelopes tab of the Printer Setup dialog, unless DYMO is selected under labels. When a DYMO is selected, DYMO labels will print instead.
Service describes the method the mailpiece will be sent. For domestic rates, this is one of the domestic service definitions. For international it is an international service method. International services depend on the country that you are sending to.
Weight defines what weight class your package falls in. This is not the actual weight of the parcel, necessarily, but instead rounds up to the nearest postal increment. Some services are weighted in pound increments, so a package that weighs 1.5 lbs will actually fall into the 2 lbs rate class.
Weigh Button works when a supported scale is attached. Please refer to the mac.endicia.com web site for a list of compatible scales.
Nonmachinable Checkbox The nonmachinable surcharge applies to mail that weighs 1 ounce or less if any one of the following applies: (a) The piece is greater than 1/4-inch thick. (b) The length is more than 11-1/2 inches or the height is more than 6-1/8 inches. (c) The aspect ratio (length divided by height) is less than 1.3 or more than 2.5.
Confirmation allows you to add either Delivery or Signature Confirmation to your parcel.
Ship Date indicates what day you'll be mailing your package. You can post-date a mailpiece up to seven days in advance for all mail classes except Express Mail which can only be post-dated four days.
Show Dollar Amount On Label checkbox disables stealth postage on parcels. This option is grayed out on items that are not using Delivery or Signature Confirmation.
